Windsor Square, located in uptown Phoenix Arizona is a special historic region with a rich history of hope, failure, and rebirth.
In early 1929 the Owens-Dinmore Company bought a number of acres on the north-west side of Central and Camelback with the intention of creating an esteemed suburban community. It was to feature an innovative street pattern knows as curvilinear and cutting edge ideas such as curbs, sidewalks, ornamental lighting, water lines and more. Alas, the depression kept sales down and Owen-Dinmore fell into bankruptcy.
Soon after WWII, two brothers, William and Fred Rasmussen, took up the cause of the neighborhood and built many of the diverse homes we see today. Part of the reason for the diversity is building in the neighborhood ran from 1920 to 1983 creating a rare mix of homes. The architectural styles in the neighborhood include:
Bungalow
Craftsman
Colonial/Period Revival
Ranch and Custom
Below we have included a virtual tour of the neighborhood as well as a map showing homes currently on the market. The listing information is updated daily from ARMLS.
